self portrait :) History ... I have been professionally capturing images now for over 20 years and have loved every minute of it. Like most photographers I started out with a little studio set up in my home and quickly became aware that I needed more space to shoot. My wife Deanna and I opened The Darkroom Studio in the spring of 1990. We set up our studio over on S. Campbell not far from Bass Pro. We took portraits and lots of them. We priced our work fairly and made it affordable to all. Seniors were our specialty and continues to be my passion. In 1998 we had grown to the point of needing more space. We purchased the Old Hebrew Temple and remodeled it into a wonderful portrait studio. Around 2007 we moved downtown to a really cool old building and now in 2010 have set up in the Cooper house on Walnut St. This is an historic 100 year old house on one of the most recognized streets in the city. It is so good to be downtown. After all these years photography still remains fun, exciting and rewarding to me. Seniors who come to The Darkroom Studio can expect portraits that reflect their unique personality and will not look the same as everyone else. This is something that most studios claim yet the images of your friends prove differently. I know that your portraits are important to you and that you have many choices where you can have them taken. With nine thousand seniors behind us we have a reputation for creativity and excellent work. Most of all, you will have a blast. We are serious about great portraits but we have some serious fun too. Ask your friends about their Darkroom Studio experience. Tim Ellis photographer
